Bachelor Pad

Another show that has been an offspring of the Bachelor is called the Bachelor Pad. It is a show that is similar to that of the bachelor but also like a real world challenge where there is competition in the form of "challenges" or games and not love. The cast is made up of past bachelor's and bachelorettes and they're teamed up in partners to work together to ultimately win the grand prize of a half million dollars to split between each other. Though throughout the show the castmates are able to have a chance at love again and of course all the drama. They're all housed under one huge mansion in california as well and if they win a challenge they get a rose. There has only been two seasons so far of this show and they're currently casting for the third season.

What it takes to be a Bachelorette or Bachelor

So after being an avid watcher of both the bachelor and bachelorette and starting this blog I have become more intrigued with the behind the scenes stuff of what it takes to get on the show. I remember during this past season of the bachelor there were so many commericals or advertisements for viewers to call into the show to try to either be a person for the next bachlorette to date or become the next bachelor. After remembering these advertisements and trying to come up with this blog post i decided to research or see what the heck the application process is like to be on this show... soo this is what i found out...

• This summer there are casting calls that girls or guys can attend! They're being held in three different cities: Dallas, TX (June 13), Detriot, MI (June 14th), New York, NY (June 21)
• You can fill out an application with an array of different photos and you also may provide a video of yourself - not necessary but the best way for them to get a feel for your personality it says!
• Or you can also do it online as well!

The application is pretty lengthy on the website there are seperate boy and girl applications but on the girls application questions such as family (how many siblings), legal (have you ever claimed bankruptcy), personality (3 adjectives to describe yourself) are just the major areas that are covered over the paper portion of the application.

Trista and Ryan Sutter

As I stated in my last post - Ashley Herbert and her man have been the only couple to stay together with the man that they actually picked from their time on the bachelorette. So I decided to see what Ryan and Trista have been up to or finding out if they had any personal blogs, twitter accounts and so on...and I came across Trista's Twitter and her husband, Ryan's personal website. Their episode aired back in 2003 and after she picked Ryan - their wedding was also aired on ABC. They now have two children, Max and Blakesley. Ryan, i know when the show aired and what not was a firefighter but it may look like he is also an athlete - runs marathons and or maybe triathalons. i am not quite sure what Trista's occupation or if she's just a stay at home mom! It makes me happy that atleast some people after a show like the bachelorette can escape the limelight and return to their "normal" selves and be happily inlove! Here is a photo of the two:

Ashley Herbert - Past Bachelorette

So on the episode called, "after the final rose," Ashley Herbert, the latest bachelorette, was on the show to update her and JP's relationship. As we all know she chose JP Rosenbaum over Ben Flajnik, and they are still happily together. During the episode Chris Harrison asked Ashley if they had made a date yet for their wedding day but instead got prank pulled on him from her fiance, who said that they were instead expecting their first child. Haha! soo funny - but they just now got their first home together in New York City. Here is a the link to see a video of their new home that they gave US Weekly. This couple is one of the few to still be together, i believe the only other bachelorette  that has thus far stayed with the one that she picked was all the way back in the first season of Trista.

Present Day: Ben and Courtney

So since the finale of the Bachelor and the episode "After the Final Rose" my biggest curiosity is Ben and Courtney still together? During the airing of the Bachelor I was unable to find a twitter/facebook account for any of the bachelorettes on the show but now I have been following or seeing posts from Courtney and her facebook page. From the looks of the posts on her page they're still together and in love. They're also what they call dengaged? or some weird word like that they're dating but engaged haha weird but anyways - They were just seen recently at a red carpet together for an even for reality stars! SO PRECIOUS hahaha So anyways i am happy that they've been able to go back to "normal" and are still working on things together! Courney on her facebook has an album called B+C= <3 GAG ME! Bachelorette

So now that the season of the Bachelor is at close for the mean time.... the next shows i have to look forward to is that of Bachelor Pad and of course the Bachelorette!! I am sooo sooo sooo excited for the new season of the Bachelorette to begin!! This next season of the Bachelorette is from Brad's Bachelor season - when he proposed to the "southern belle", Emily Maynard!! She won over Brad's heart that season and in the end after the show has ended - their engagement broke off and they went their separate ways.... Now she has the chance at love again! She is the only Bachelorette to have had a child prior to the show and be the one be in the hot seat! Before she was on TV she had a high school sweetheart that who was also a racecar driver and got into a serious accident and was killed on the track at a race... only to find out about a week or two after his passing that she was pregnant. So her daughter does not have a "father" in her life - so I do hope that Emily can find someone not only for herself but for her daughter as well!! Not sure though when this season actually airs though....hmmmm

The Final Rose...

So the finale of this season's Bachelor aired last Monday. In this episode, the Bachelor was with his two final ladies in Switzerland where he would finally go on one knee to propose to one of them. I thought that this was a shocking location because usually, the engagement usually takes place near an ocean and not a mountain side. I was bummed and was mad with who Ben decided to pop the question too... "The girl that America loves to hate on"... as Chris Harrison likes to put it... Courtney. She was in the end who Ben had been waiting for so long to tell that he loved her.... BAH sick. Anyways, After the final episode then there was another episode called "After the Final Rose" This was a time to see where Ben and Courtney where at in their lives since the taping had ended back in November around Thanksgiving time. With the media and press, along with finding out what Courtney was like when Ben was not around.... Ben had broke off the engagement for some time to Courtney between the taping and the airing of the show. Though as this episode ended, Courtney and Ben told the audience that they were back together and that they were ready for life to go back to "normal." Overall I really enjoyed this season even though there were times of anger and disgust and I am so excited for the Bachlorette!!!

Women Tell All

O.M.G.

Oh my gosh - THIS by far was my favorite episode of the entire season. Now, not only was it because i loved seeing Courtney "cry" but to also see the women bicker between themselves and also for themselves to realize and admit for how crazy this season has been so far!

Sooo, this was the first time in Bachelor History for one of the final two women to be on the Women Tell All special. Chris Harrison explained that they did not feel that it was right for the ladies to talk about Courtney without Courtney to be there to state her side of the story.....Like any of us are going to believe any apology coming from her at this point is true and/or sincere.

It was good to see that Nicki, Kacie, and Emily were given a chance on the "hot" seat to take a chance to go back and see their relationship with Ben. These three and Lindzi by far were my favorite girls of the whole season. After these three discussed their relationship with Ben and where they have come from since the show, then Courtney was welcomed on. The girls tore her apart with questions which they rightly should. This girl was so ridiculous on the show to them that they deserved to have answers demanded from her. Though stating this, I mean was it really worth it though to ask her questions and make her apologize when in reality I doubt any of the girls would believe the apology coming from her.

Anyways I think you guys need to go to ABC.com and watch the episode! It was terrific!!!

Week 9

This past week was the private room suite on the bachelor! All the three ladies left and ben are in Switzerland for these dates! While here the three ladies get individual dates with Ben and at the end of the date theyre able to get to spend the night with each other if they wish! Of course all three girls did decide that they wanted to spend the night together with Ben. At this point all the dates were not awkward and Ben seemed at ease though i was surprised that Ben questioned courtney as much as he did. The big shocker of the qhole episode is that kacie b came back to the show asking Ben for answers and telling him again that if he picks courtney that he will get hurt....WELL DUH! Haha anyways Ben of course does not listen and sends Nicki home. im so excited for this mondays episode! The woman tell all!!!!!

Okay so i usually watch a lot of Ellen if i get the chance - or I go to her youtube channel to watch her videos... here are some that were posted recently that I thought I would share! Too funny!

Week 7

When I sit down every Monday night to watch the bachelor about three different thoughts enter my head as I am watching. They're usually consisted of the following:

• Where or how do they cast these women?!?! 
• They're little digs or comments are absurd.
• Do they realize how they come across? 
• How embarrassed are these women going to be when they're done taping and actually sit down and watch it.

Okay so maybe I lied....It's 4 thoughts haha. So this week they're in Belize - Lindzi and Ben went on a date first. Lindzi has told Ben that she is afraid of heights. So of course their date, they jumped out of a helicopter into the ocean! Now if i was afraid of heights that bad - i don't know if I would jump out of a helicopter for a man that I was dating along with 5 other girls. Would you guys ever jump out of a helicopter into the ocean?! Emily, back at the house, got the next date card to have a one on one date with Ben. Emily and Ben's date was really easy going - they went on a bike ride around the town and then they caught their own dinner - LOBSTER fishing! What a tough task, catching lobsters, they quickly learned! It did not look like my type of fun - haha I definitely would have given up! Then the next one on one date was with Courtney and Ben - THIS GIRL IS NUTS! - She is playing Ben for a loop.....



 Welll I am writing this as it is happening.... sooo you'll have to go to ABC.com to watch the rest of the episode to see what happens....

Week 6

PANAMA CITY, Panama!!!! What a cool place to go to get to know your "boyfriend" or potential fiance! So this week was the beginning of the 2 on 1 dates.How awkward! If this process wasn't awkward enough you have to go on a date with not only Ben but only one other girl. I would hate doing something like that. So the first date that happened was the date of Kacie B and Ben - I LOVE THIS GIRL! i hope she wins his heart out of all these crazy girls! Their date was an interesting one - they were stranded on a island and they had to cook dinner and what not by only using the 3 items each of them brought on the date - cute but also weird for a date! Kacie of course got a rose for him after she told him more about her past battle with anorexia/bulimia. The girl i hate most is COURTNEY - crazy botox girl - had to go on the group date with everyone - and that was awkward!! They went to this tribe thing in the middle of the rainforest - where in the heck does ABC come up with these date ideas?! - not saying it wasn't cool to see the tribe - cause i thought it was really cool - but at the same time - really?! for a date!? and well anyways - the tribal people made them these clothing attire that was completely covering and well of course- courtney let it all hang out and left nothing for bens imagination - oh wait - that's already been seen - sickkk!!! anyways - Linzi got a rose on the group date - ANOTHER FAVE!!! Then the two on 1 date and that was with Rachel and Blakeley - Two polar opposites in personality - they went salsa dancing! Ha - funny to just watch the awkwardness commence - in the end - Rachel got the rose on the date - therefore blakeley had to leave. Then the real drama of the whole evening was that the other Kacie was called aside from the whole group by Chris Harrison, the host of the show. Chris confronted Kacie about another man she was in love with and still was in love with from back home. This of course did not go over well with Ben and he sent her packing to go home - which i figured she was going to leave this week anyways because there was not that much of a connection between the two. In the end - Jamie was sent home! Ah Courtney is still there.....

Week 5

Sooo the saga continues throughout week 5 in the Bachelor. This week by far for me was the most interesting/dramatic week yet! They are in Puerto Rico on this beautiful island to fall deeper in love with Ben. Nicki got the first individual date with Ben. They walked around the near by city and it ends up raining on them. While walking through out the city they come across a church and outside is a bride. They creepily sit there and watch the bride get ready to make her way down the isle. I thought that this was weird. In the end Nicki got a rose. Then next was the group date and everyone else got to go but Elyse - who got the second individual date with Ben. The group played Baseball with Ben. The girls were split up into two teams and the winning team got to go on the evening portion of the date. Of course all the girls were crying when they had to ride the bus home and were mad that Courtney was on the winning team. Kacie B got the rose at the evening portion. During the evening Courtney took Ben aside and was talking to him about how she wanted to go skinny dipping with him - SICK - and hoped that she could fulfill that need before they left puerto rico - VOM in my mouth. The next day, Ben took Elyse on a beautiful Yacht and to a private place on a island for dinner - JEALOUS! It was during the Dinner when Ben broke the news to Elyse that she would not be given a rose. Dang! The Chicagoan got kicked off the show! Anyways - sooo on Ben's way back to his room - Courtney is being a creeper and sitting outside his door in only a robe.... well do i need to go farther - she got her way and they went skinny dipping - SICKKKKKKK anyways. Now i am kinda over Ben. At the rose ceremony Jennifer did not get a rose! =[

To catch everyone up to speed on what is going on, we just finished the 4th week of the Bachelor! So whats happened between the beginning and now? Of course, crying and drama has been a big portion of what has been happening but also, skimpy bikinis, extremely white teeth and beautiful dresses for each rose ceremony have been sure to be showcased by the women of the show. The first week, is of course when Ben got to meet all 30 women and he then narrowed it down to the top 25 women who would be fighting for his attention and love. As they have every season, Ben got to give a first impression rose. This rose went to the woman who made the best first impression on Ben, he chose Lindzi. Of course, all of the girls were jealous and upset.The only reason why Lindzi got it and not them was because she arrived to the house to meet Ben riding on a horse than that of riding in a limo. The first woman to cry and cried on the first night this season was Jenna.  Jenna was crying because Monica, another woman in the house, did not like her and was being mean to her. OK so other than that nothing MAJOR happened the first week.

Okay - So I am going to fast forward to the latest episode - since we got a lot of the major "firsts" of the season recapped. So this past week - week # 4 - Ben had the normal 2 one on one dates and 1 large group date. The first one on one date was with Rachel. He took her on a helicopter ride,  paddled around on a canoe and had a nice picnic in the middle of this beautiful scenery. At first the date was very awkward with weird conversation, but eventually Rachel opened up about her problems with communication and for that Ben gave her the chance to stick around and open up more to him with offering her a rose. Then the large group of women went horseback riding, fly fishing, and of course ending the night with cocktails and swimming. This part of the date, I was shocked and was amused by as I am sure the rest of the viewers were. Samantha confronted Ben about being asked only to go on group dates and wondered when she was going to get her one on one time with Ben. Ben of course, did not like being confronted about his decisions and out of no where sent Samantha packing her bags to go home. Video of Samantha being sent home in the middle of their conversation. <-- here is the link of the full episode but also about middle of the whole episode is where you can witness Samantha being dumped. I found this hilarious, because she stuck her foot in her own mouth and to me it seemed as though she was drunk talking to him. During this group date Courtney, which all the girls in the house HATE, got the rose. The final date of the episode was Ben and Jennifer's date. Jennifer as well was asked if she would accept his rose, and of course she did. At the end of this episode was the infamous rose ceremony in which one more girl had to go home, and that was Monica. Until next week, when we will see the love and relationships grow or end with Ben!
